Senator Hillary Clinton Suspends Her Campaign And Endorses Obama
It was a long, hard road she endured. Despite her herculean efforts, New York Senator and former First Lady Hillary Clinton ended her bid for the White House and urged the 18 million people who voted for her to support Illinois Senator Barack Obama as he now takes on Arizona Senator John McClain. In her 28 minute speech, she told her supporters to look at the political and cultural milestones she and Obama made even though she wasn't able to win the Democratic nomination. Last Tuesday, Barack Obama won the 2,118 delegates needed for nomination.
I am sad that Hillary wasn't able to pull off winning the nomination, but she has inspired women everywhere to pursue their goals with sheer determination. In that regard, Hillary is a winner. True, she did make mistakes. The one about the sniper fire was a big one. The fact that Hillary is a woman is why some came down hard on her and were not forgiving for putting her foot in her mouth many time. A sharp contrast when her husband, former President Bill Clinton, ran for President in 1992. Remember the "I didn't inhale" remark?
Yet, there are those who irrationally hate Hillary. They couldn't get over the fact that she was a different First Lady than her predecessors. Of course, there are the misogynists out there too.
You did good, Hillary. You go, Girl!
